Mike Schmuhl

Mike Schmuhl is a seasoned leader and strategist who works with companies, nonprofits, labor unions, and political candidates across the country. He helps clients enhance key initiatives, improve communication strategies, and leverage technology to achieve results.

As the national campaign manager for Pete Buttigieg’s 2020 presidential campaign, Mike led a 600-person team, culminating in a historic Iowa caucus victory. He has also served as chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party and on the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Committee.

A South Bend, Indiana native, Mike has been a senior aide to U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly and served as Buttigieg’s first mayoral campaign manager and chief of staff. Beyond politics, he has experience in journalism, including roles at The Washington Post and NBC’s Meet the Press.

 

Mike holds a BA in History from the University of Notre Dame and an MA in International Affairs from Sciences Po in Paris, where he was recognized as Alumni of the Year in 2021. Currently, he serves on the Advisory Council of NewDEAL.
